What is a Double Planetary Mixer?
A new type of mixing equipment, the double planetary mixer, enables high-efficiency mixing of highly viscous products. It has been proven to have no area or a minimal area within each batch.
The IDA Planetary Mixer uses two blades that rotate about their own axes and orbit the bowl center, where the material is to be mixed. With dual planetary motion, the IDA mixer reaches all points in the bowl within seconds, ensuring complete mixing without dead zones.

How Does a Double Planetary Mixer Work?
The double planetary mixer uses a dual-motion system: the mixing blades perform “self-rotation” (personal-axis rotation) and “rotation” (revolving around the vessel’s central axis). The result is a multidimensional mixing process that uses both mixing methods to achieve uniform filling throughout the container.
Working principle:
Once the double planetary mixer is started, the planet carrier rotates, driving the two mixing shafts in the box. They revolve around the barrel axis and rotate at high speed. The planetary mixer is equipped with a low-speed mixing part and a high-speed dispersing part. The low-speed mixing part adopts a planetary gear transmission. The mixing paddle also rotates during revolution, causing the material to move up, down, and around, thereby achieving the ideal mixing effect in a short period of time. The high-speed dispersing components rotate with the planetary carrier, achieving high-speed mixing that induces strong shearing and dispersion of the materials. The effect is several times that of ordinary mixers. At the same time, there is a row of scraping knives on the planet carrier that rotates with the planet carrier, close to the cylinder wall, and continuously scrapes off the material on the cylinder wall, so that there is no retained material on the cylinder wall.
